PNG to JPEG: choose the background before transparency disappears
A logo can look fine on a white page and acquire an unwanted box after being sent elsewhere. The file is not necessarily broken: transparent space may have become a fixed color. Decide where the image will be used before choosing its format.
The background becomes part of the picture
Ordinary JPEG has no alpha transparency channel. A transparent PNG therefore needs to be composited onto a chosen background when converted. Areas that previously revealed the page behind them become fixed pixels.
Choose white or black for the actual destination when those are the offered choices. If the logo must sit on several backgrounds and remain transparent, keep PNG or another suitable format instead of converting it to JPEG.

Photographs and fine lettering need different checks
JPEG is suited to photographs, but lossy compression can weaken fine edges in diagrams and lettering. Inspect the product name and thin strokes, not just the overall picture.
Compare the output inside the document or form that will use it. A file can look clear in a large viewer yet be hard to read at its final size. Raising compression quality cannot by itself fix lettering that was too small to begin with.

Make the export decision and retain the source
Keep the transparent PNG as your source. Making a white-background JPEG and later converting it back to PNG does not automatically restore transparency; the white area has become image content.
This path handles a still image. If the source is animated, do not expect a single JPEG to preserve its motion. Treat that requirement separately from converting an ordinary logo or photograph.
Example: a logo on a product card
A 600 × 400-pixel PNG contains a centered opaque logo measuring 400 × 200. It has a 100-pixel margin on every side. Flattening transparency onto white makes that margin permanently white; it will not adapt when placed on a black card.
For a white-only destination, check the edge against white and save a JPEG. If the card needs two background colors, retain transparency or prepare an appropriate version for each. A background mismatch is not a mistake in the dimension calculation.
