Details
Words use the browser’s language-aware counting when available, or basic letter-and-number matching as a fallback. A character means one visible symbol; supported browsers keep joined emoji and combined marks together, while older ones use basic Unicode counting. Reading time is an estimate based on 200 words per minute.
